Smart Meetings Event a Terrific Success!

April 20, 2011

BIG Thank You goes out to the fabulous performers who contributed their time and talents to Monday night’s Smart Meetings event held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel-Laguna Niguel!

Mike Steffens designed a tantalizing evening of entertainment to compliment each of the food courses during the “Symphony of the Senses Award Dinner” as designed by Jennifer Berman at the Ritz Carlton on behalf of Ben Partin of Smart Meeting.

The evening began as guests arrived at the Monarch Bay Courtyard for cocktails, where they were serenaded by Tom Liston, Solo Pan (steel drums).  It was a perfect evening for an outdoor cocktail party, and the sunset was absolutely glorious!

DJ Bryan provided atmosphere music as guests entered the Grand Ballroom and found their seats.  After a welcome speech and awards, the first course was brought out as Mark Massey, Pianist/Vocalist, provided a lively “New Orleans Blues” atmosphere.

The plates were cleared, and as the lights changed and the next course was presented, Brad Powell, Spanish Guitar, performed beautifully on the opposite side of the room on his own stage.

The third course began with a splash!  Tatiana and Adam, Ballroom Dancers, dramatically entered the room and dazzled the crowd with their Tango, which was rewarded with tremendous applause.  DJ Bryan then continued with Argentinian theme music.

The palette-cleansing fourth course was complimented by Eric Nelson, Accordion/Vocals, as he played music appropriate for the French themed course.  The guests were particularly thrilled as Eric strolled table to table, singing and serenading the guests up close and personal.

To entice the guests to gather in the next room for dessert and dancing, the curtains into the adjoining room were swished apart, DJ Bryan, from his second system, played vibrant Salsa music as Tatiana and Adam lit up the room with their Salsa routine (Tatiana’s pink fringe dress was fabulous!) and at Bryan’s announcement, invited all guests to follow them onto the dance floor and to enjoy dessert.  The rest of the evening was orchestrated brilliantly by DJ Bryan.

Mike and Robin Kelly were on hand to stage manage and coordinate all of the transitions and logistics.

Essence Entertainment can’t thank these talented performers enough for their participation – the success of this event is due to their professionalism, positive energy, 1000% commitment, and willingness to do whatever it takes!

As quoted from the Smart Meetings Blog:

“Attendees continued to be wowed by the inspired decor, themed meals and astounding entertainment during the dinner. Each of the five courses hailed from a different country, accompanied by complementary talent including tango and salsa dancers, a French accordion player and more.”
